Where Wilderness Becomes Art
Nestled along the eastern shores of Lake Tanganyika in western Tanzania, Gombe Stream National Park holds a unique place in both conservation history and our understanding of the natural world. At just 52 square kilometres, it is Tanzania’s smallest national park — but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in significance.
Gombe is forever linked to the legendary British primatologist Dame Jane Goodall, who began her groundbreaking chimpanzee research here in 1960. Her decades-long study transformed how humanity understands primate behaviour, emotion, and intelligence, putting Gombe firmly on the global map.
Today, visitors trek through lush forest trails to observe habituated chimpanzee communities up close — an intimate, humbling encounter unlike any other. With its pristine forests, sparkling lake shores, and rich biodiversity, Gombe Stream offers a quietly extraordinary wildlife experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Unforgettable Tanzanian Safari with Savannah Tours – Our safari in Tanzania with Savannah Tours was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived in Arusha everything was perfectly organized—first class lodges, a well-paced itinerary, and breathtaking wildlife encounters. Our guide, Edmund, was outstanding—knowledgeable, passionate, and attentive. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five and so much more, including lions, cheetahs, and elephant herds. Each park—Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti—offered its own unique beauty, including a hot air ballon ride. What really stood out was the personal touch. Savannah Tours went above and beyond to make this a once-in-a-lifetime trip. We felt safe, cared for, and completely immersed in the magic of Tanzania. Highly recommended!
