Lemala Nanyukie Lodge — Serengeti, Tanzania

Perched amidst rocky kopjes and shaded by ancient acacia trees, Lemala Nanyukie offers a luxurious, immersive safari experience on the edge of the Serengeti’s boundless plains.

Arrival & Setting

A drive of roughly 40–60 minutes from Seronera Airstrip through the heart of the Serengeti brings you to this sanctuary of calm and beauty.  As you approach, the landscape opens into a grassy plateau dotted with giant boulders and wispy acacias, giving way to sweeping views across the golden savannah. The lodge is unfenced — wildlife roams through the grounds, and the boundary between “camp” and “wilderness” blurs.

Shared Spaces & Ambiance

At the lodge’s heart lies a double-volume communal area, with a lounge, bar, indoor and outdoor dining, and viewing decks that open toward the plains beyond.Nearby you’ll find an infinity or swimming pool, offering a cooling respite with majesty views beyond. For indulgence, a discreet spa tent tucked among the trees offers massage and wellness treatments in peaceful surroundings. Dine under canvas, or choose star-lit bush dinners by lantern & firelight — both elevate the sensesWildlife & Experience

Set in one of the Serengeti’s richest zones for predator activity, Nanyukie is an ideal staging ground for cat sightings — lions, leopards, cheetahs — along with abundant resident game throughout the year. It also lies along the migratory route of wildebeest, offering prime opportunities to witness the Great Migration during key seasons.  Whether you’re on a dawn game drive, a guided walking safari (immersing you in the small wonders of the bush), or drifting above it all in a hot-air balloon, the wild is always close.

Accommodations

Lemala Nanyukie comprises 15 spacious, elegantly appointed tented suites (13 standard tents plus a two-bedroom family suite) carefully spaced to ensure privacy.  Each tent is finished with canvas walls and lofty, cathedral-style ceilings, softened by a palette of neutral tones and rich textures.

Within your suite, expect an oversized bed, lounge area, and a luxurious en suite bathroom with double vanities, an indoor shower, and a freestanding bathtub.  A private wooden deck extends your living space outdoors and includes a sunken seating area, outdoor shower, plunge pool, and sweeping panorama across the Serengeti.

Why Nanyukie Stands Out

  • Verandah safari: many guests describe the phenomenon of seeing animals strolling past from their decks, blurring “tent” and “wild.”

  • Luxurious isolation: though centrally located, the lodge is deliberately secluded from major visitor hubs, offering privacy and serenity.

  • High standards with thoughtful design: the modern aesthetic, sustainable systems, and attention to detail create perfect harmony with the wild landscape.

Sayari Camp — Northern Serengeti, Tanzania

Set deep in the northern reaches of the Serengeti, where the Mara River threads its way across the savannah, Sayari Camp offers a compelling blend of wilderness immersion and high-end comfort. It is one of the few permanent camps positioned to give guests front-row access to the Great Wildebeest Migration’s dramatic river crossings.

Arrival & Setting

A short transfer from Kogatende Airstrip (typically 15–20 minutes) will bring you into its remote realm.  As you approach, sweeping plains dotted with kopjes stretch toward the horizon, and the hush of the wild sets in. The camp sits unfenced, so wildlife—including elephants, antelope, and predators—may traverse your path after dark.

Shared Spaces & Ambiance

Sayari’s communal areas are both elegant and inviting. Each wing’s dining and lounge areas are raised on platforms with sliding walls that can be opened to bring the outside in.  Between them lies a rim-flow (or infinity) swimming pool, inset among rocks, linking the wings while preserving the camp’s intimate feel.  In cooler evenings, fires glow, lanterns gleam, and dining under canopy or stars fosters a sense of wonder. A curio shop and spa treatments are available to round out the guest experience.

Wildlife & Experiences

From its strategic location, Sayari places you at the heart of some of East Africa’s most spectacular wildlife corridors. During the migration (especially July to October), the camp offers easy access to Mara River crossings—moments charged with drama as herds assemble, swirl, and plunge into crocodile-filled waters.

Beyond migration season, the area remains rich with resident wildlife: lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, and antelope roam across the plains. Birdlife is abundant year-round. Guided game drives (morning, afternoon, and night), walking safaris, hot air balloon rides, and community/cultural visits provide a balance of adventure and intimacy with the land.

Whether you rise at dawn to catch wildlife stirring, linger on your deck with a cup of tea as the plains stretch out before you, or close the evening with stories around firelight, Sayari evokes a sense of belonging to the wild.

Accommodation & Layout

Sayari comprises 15 luxurious tented suites (including a honeymoon suite and family accommodations), distributed in two wings — one with six tents and the other with nine — each wing flanking its own lounge and dining area.

Each tent is raised on teak decking and opens via sliding timber/glass doors to the bush beyond. Inside, you’ll find neutral tones accented with natural materials. The bedframe is generous, draped in mosquito nets, and the furnishings include a writing desk, seating, and storage.

Behind a sliding partition lies the en suite bathroom: twin vanities, indoor shower, and a striking freestanding bath. Many bathrooms also offer an outdoor shower option. The honeymoon tent comes with an expanded veranda and more privacy.

Verandas extend your living space outdoors, with comfortable chairs or beanbags from which to watch plains life unfold—the rustle of grasses, the silhouette of passing antelope, or the flash of a predator in the distance.

Laba Laba (Laba Migration) Camp — Serengeti, Tanzania

Drifting across the Serengeti like the great herds themselves, Laba Laba is a luxurious mobile camp designed to follow the rhythm of the wildebeest migration. Moving between the southern plains, western corridor, and northern reaches of the Serengeti, the camp ensures you are always at the heart of nature’s grand spectacle.

Arrival & Setting

Each time the camp relocates, it settles into a secluded pocket of wilderness, far from the crowds. Golden light spills over the open savannah, and as dusk falls, lanterns flicker against the canvas while the air fills with the sounds of the wild — the distant roar of a lion, the rustle of grass beneath wandering hooves.

Shared Spaces & Ambience

At the heart of the camp, open-sided lounge and dining tents invite guests to gather, dine, and unwind. The décor evokes the spirit of an explorer’s collection — fossils, maps, and hand-crafted details that tell stories of the Serengeti’s past. Evenings center around the fire pit, where guests share stories under starlit skies. A small fitness tent is available for those who wish to stretch and stay active between game drives.

Wildlife & Experiences

Because Laba Laba is mobile, it positions itself near the most dynamic wildlife areas throughout the year. In the south, guests witness the calving season and predator activity; in the west, the herds gather before their great push north; and in the north, the drama of the Mara River crossings unfolds just beyond camp. Guests enjoy private safari vehicles with expert guides, morning and afternoon drives, sundowners in the bush, and al fresco breakfasts beneath acacia trees. Depending on the location, guided walking safaris and hot-air balloon rides can also be arranged.

Accommodations

Laba Laba hosts only ten tents, including two family units, ensuring intimacy and personalized service. Each tent rests on raised decking with a shaded veranda and elegant interior — a soothing blend of canvas, wood, and brass accents. The en suite bathrooms feature twin vanities, flush toilets, and either a classic safari shower or a freestanding tub. Warm neutral tones, soft lighting, and natural curiosities create an atmosphere that feels both adventurous and refined.

Why Laba Laba Stands Out

  • True mobility: The camp relocates with precision to follow the migration and maximize wildlife viewing.

  • Intimate scale: With only ten tents, privacy and personalized service are guaranteed.

  • Distinctive style: The design blends natural textures with vintage charm and a sense of discovery.

  • Immersive experience: Each stay feels deeply connected to the rhythm and pulse of the Serengeti.

These are just a few of the many outstanding options available. The final choice always depends on the type of accommodation and the overall package that best complements the itinerary. In every case, we customize each journey to reflect the individual traveler's unique style and preferences.
